West Ridge Cares believes that God uses our resources to change lives. When we grow to care about the things God cares about, we use whatever He’s given us to accomplish his purpose for our world. If you are looking to Share Generously this coming holiday season, here are some upcoming opportunities.
School Break Food Boxes
This holiday season, West Ridge Cares is partnering with Huff Elementary to help feed 45 families in need through our Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Box Drives. Many Huff families rely on school meals during the week. When school is out for the holidays, these food boxes help fill the gap by providing nutritious essentials for their children.
How You Can Help:
Thanksgiving Boxes
- Pick up a box and grocery list in the lobby starting Sunday, November 9th.
- Shop & Fill your box with only the items on the list to ensure every family receives the same essentials.
- Return your filled box to West Ridge by Sunday, November 16th (by second service).
Christmas Boxes
- Boxes will be available starting Sunday, December 7th in the lobby.
- Shop & Fill your box with only the items on the list to ensure every family receives the same essentials.
- Return your filled box to West Ridge by Sunday, December 14th (by second service).
Thank you, West Ridge, for helping make this season brighter and ensuring no family at Huff Elementary goes without a holiday meal.
Blessing Tree
As we enter the holiday season, we recognize that some people in our West Ridge community and families from Fellowship Housing may be facing extra challenges. Our Blessing Tree is a beautiful way for us to come together and share God’s love in tangible ways this Christmas.
Here’s how you can participate starting Sunday, November 9th:
Nominate Someone:
Know a family or individual in need within West Ridge? Complete the referral form or scan the QR code by the tree.
Pick an Envelope:
Choose an envelope from the Blessing Tree in the lobby:
- Green or Red Envelopes: Support a member of the West Ridge community with a gift card.
- Purple Envelopes: Provide a Fellowship Housing family with an ALDI gift card to purchase their Christmas dinner.
Donate Easily:
No time to shop? You can still make a difference!
- Use the QR code or give online—just note “Blessing Tree” with your donation.
- Contribute during the offering, add “Outreach | Blessing Tree” in the memo of your check.
Together, we can bring warmth, joy, and hope to families in our community and Fellowship Housing this Christmas season.
