Rock Band Camp

Want to develop your musical craft this summer?
Students will learn and perform songs from The Beatles to current artists. Most of our attention will be on current music. While learning to cultivate their musical ability, awareness of the arts and history of popular music, we will also be providing students with an understanding and respect of their fellow musicians while helping them to develop their performance skills and stage presence.

Music Instruction
Receive individual and group instruction on your instrument(s) and/or voice from active professionals.

Master Class
For two hours each day the students will have sectional rehearsals with a professional on their instrument/voice.  This sectional time will help them to focus on technique, efficiency, accuracy and ear training.

Full Band
For three hours each day, the students will be in the full band setting on our stage.  They will all be using in-ear monitoring systems (so each student needs to bring their own pair of ear buds) and top of the line microphones/audio equipment!  During these times of each day the students will be working through their concert music, with the instructors present, to get ready for their Friday night concert!

Expert Professional Performances
There will be a performances for the students by the teachers and/or local performers during the week.

Camp Schedule

7 pm in Auditorium

This concert is for all family
and friends to attend.

Requirements
– Student ages 11-18 (still in HS).
– Need to be in private lessons and/or have rock band experience (exceptions can be made on a case by case basis).
– Each applicant’s family will receive a phone call by our director to schedule a potential audition/meeting time.

Cost
$265.00 includes: five days of camp where each student will be given daily individual, sectional and full group instruction. Our staff of educators and professional musicians will be large and we anticipate a 1-2 ratio for teacher/student.  T-shirt to wear for Friday night’s performance (7 pm) and DVD copy of the Friday night performance.

There is a $35.00 discount for two or more students from the same family enrolled.

*Once approved, payment must be made in full in order to reserve your space at Rock Band Camp.

*Cancellation policy
Full reimbursements will be given until April 22nd.  After that date, the space is transferable to another person (pending director’s approval).

Once form is submitted, the Rock Band Camp staff will evaluate and contact to set up an audition time.  During this time, the student and parent/guardian will meet with Michael Aukofer to discuss music, your experiences in music, Michael will listen to you play/sing and have some exercises for you to try.  Family will then be notified if accepted.

Details

– Each student will need to bring their lunch daily (sack lunch/lunch box or bag with drink)

– Each student will need to bring their own pair of ear buds to be used on stage for hearing themselves and the others during full band rehearsing.
