All For Love
I don’t think we truly remember or understand the great love our Lord and Savior endured for us, All for love. I know I didn’t until 4 years ago. I was raised to thank Jesus for his sacrifice but I never really understood what that meant. When I understood that sacrifice it changed my life. Will it change yours? I hope it will. Once you see the beauty of Jesus sacrifice. You can see a true love story.
I was raised with religion. We believed Jesus was an important being but not to be worshipped. We would thank him for his sacrifice but the Father was to be worshipped, not the son. I lived that way until 7 years ago when I went on a faith journey that changed my life. It started off slow. Trying to understand who Jesus is according to the bible. Pretty much trying to reconcile if the way I was taught growing up was correct. Then 4 years ago, I was at a Palm Sunday service and God opened my Eyes to the truth of the cross. It was then that I understood true love. The bible is very clear. The Son, the 2nd person of the Trinity, was reigning in heaven. He had everything, EVERYTHING! There was communion and love with the Father and the Spirit. He was worshipped., Angels cried out to Him Holy, Holy, Holy. Jesus ruled and according to Philippians 2:5-11, he willingly left that all to reconcile usl to God. The truly innocent one taking on the wrath of God to justify sinners, all of us, to God. When I remember the creator of flesh was ridiculed, spit on, mocked, beaten with a cat of nine tails that ripped into his flesh. Wore a crown of thorns and hung naked on a tree, for me and for you if you surrender to Him. All I can do is worship him. God changed my heart that day. I hope he changes yours as well to see who Jesus truly is.
So on Good Friday and every day. I would hope you get to know the cost of your salvation. It was free to us but came with a cost, one we could never pay. Jesus paid it all. Meditate on Philippians 2:5-11. It is a glorious reminder of his continued love for us. Get to know Jesus. Read about him in the scriptures. Understand the love he went to just for you. Then worship Him. Today and every day, He is worthy of all our praise.
Philippians 2:5:-11 (ESV). Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
