Be, Learn, Grow event
Matthew 11:28-29 (MSG)
Be, Learn, Grow is a one-day experience on Saturday, October 5th from 9:00am – 3:30pm at West Ridge. This will be an opportunity for everyone to participate in a guided experience to Be, Learn and Grow in your relationship with Jesus and in community with others. We so look forward to helping you set apart a space to spend with God. Register here to be a part of it. We are praying for you in the coming days by name that God might be preparing your heart. The day will be lead by Gail Donahue and Joan Kelly from Sacred.
Our Time Together
Registration will be from 8:30am – 9:00am in the West Ridge Auditorium. We will begin promptly at 9:00am. Please give yourself enough time to park, get settled in our room and grab some coffee. Once you register, take a deep breath, find a seat and begin to settle your mind, heart and body for the day. If you have prayer requests, please take a card on the way in and fill those out. We will be glad to pray for you during the day.
Here’s the general plan for the day:

Morning Guided Solitude Time
12:30 Lunch (available in cafe until 1:15pm)
Afternoon Guided Solitude Time
A Time of Reflection and Closing (in community)
We will be done by 3:30pm.
What should I bring and what are my food options?
Bible (a real one with words on paper pages!), journal, comfortable walking shoes, outdoor chairand weather appropriate outerwear in case you want to take go outside to walk. You may want to bring a blanket in case you want to curl up on a couch or on the grass and take a rest. There are lots of spaces on campus to explore with God.
Lunch will be provided (menu tbd), light snacks and hot and cold beverages are available all day.
What should I NOT bring?
- Technology: which would include laptops, iPads, cell phones (unless you are using your phone for keeping time – however please consider bringing one of those old-fashioned things called a watch and a real Bible instead of using your cell phone which can be tempting to pull us away from God)
- Work related items (this is not catch up time)
- The large stack of books next to your bedside (that you have been meaning to catch up on)
What should I know before I arrive?
We highly encourage you to make use of your travel time to begin to prepare your heart and mind for your day with God. Let your time with God begin the moment you leave your home with some intentional choices. We tell our participants to remember that this is a day to just be with God in whatever way you feel led. There is nothing to produce and no right or wrong way to do solitude other than being present with God.
$60 dollars and includes the event, materials, lunch and snacks throughout the day.
