Child Dedication Parent Information

We are so glad that you are interested in participating with us in our Child Dedication celebration on May 12, 2019.  You have been entrusted with the precious gift of a child, and we look forward to PARTNERING with you as you embark on or continue on this parenting journey.  We hope the Child Dedication celebration will be a memorable occasion for you and your family.

We believe Child Dedication is more than a ceremony; it is a commitment and celebration between Parents and the Church to partner together in the child’s spiritual formation.  This commitment goes beyond a one-time experience. It is a commitment that lasts through out many seasons of your child’s life.

Child Dedication will be a special part of both services on Sunday, May 12th.  It is a time when parents make a public commitment to raise their children in the ways of God.  During the service there is a time when the families will go on stage and make their commitment and participate in a special communion and pray as a family with a church pastor or leader.

Babies or children of ANY age can be dedicated.

Anyone is welcome to participate.

There will be reserved seating for the parents & children being dedicated.

Other family members or friends will have general seating.

In order to make Child Dedication a great experience for you and the entire family, please pay special attention to the following:

  • Please register no later than May 1st, 2019.
  • Register here for Child Dedication
  • Child Dedication Ceremonies will be taking place at both the 9am and 11am services on Sunday, May 12, 2019.  An important logistical meeting will take place right before each service at 8:20 am and 10:20 am.    At this time, we will practice walking on stage and give you important instructions on where to be and when during the service.  Please indicate which service you would prefer your child to be dedicated. We will try to accommodate your family in your preferred service depending on the number of families. Register early.
  • You may check your child into their respective West Ridge Kids classroom prior to the service if you so choose.  You will be instructed as to what time to pick them up for the Child Dedication part of the service.
