Short and Sweet
Gratitude: a feeling of thankfulness or appreciation.
Several weeks ago I shared a couple of things that were shared with me during the early part of my spiritual awakening:
“I’m not the person I could be, And, I’m not the person I should be.But thank God I’m not the person I used to be.”
Briefly, it was indeed His Hand, often used through other people, that got me from where I was to where I am now. It was a journey from darkness to light. My guess would be that more people than not have taken the same journey to one degree or another.
It simply begs the question…how can any of us who have moved from darkness to light possibly not have a deep and abiding sense of gratitude to our God? How can we not continue to move forward each day in profound gratitude for the fact that we aren’t the same folks we once were?
Hebrews 12:28 reminds us: “Let us all be thankful that we are a part of an unshakable Kingdom and offer to God worship that pleases Him and reflects the awe and reverence we have toward Him.”
If He can accomplish the make-over from the “used to be me” to the person I am now (even though still flawed & broken), then there ain’t nothing He can’t do. And that, in and of itself, is the stand alone reason to live our lives daily with gratitude.
Get it? Got it? Done! Gratitude!
