A Note from Greg Bowman

Leadership Development and Teaching Pastor

Hopefully you’ve had a chance to meet Jordan Furlan, our Student Ministry Pastor. He’s been serving our students and families for the past year in a part time capacity as he finished his Master’s Degree at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

We’ve been talking with Jordan for several months about his future and the future of the Student Ministry at West Ridge.  After lots of prayer and conversation, the Leadership Team decided to increase Jordan’s role to full time beginning August 1st.

This is an important step for us as a church and it’s a critical investment in our students and their families. We believe Jordan is the right leader to help students develop a strong, life-long faith. Based on the spiritual growth we’ve already seen in the  students, as well as the numerical growth in the ministry, we have great faith in his leadership. We are thrilled to have Jordan as our Church’s first full-time Student Ministry Pastor.

It’s a great time for your kids to be a part of or join this ministry. It’s also a great time to join this growing ministry as a volunteer.  Please join me in praying for our students and their spiritual growth, and for Jordan in this role.

A Note from Jordan

Student Ministry Pastor

I am incredibly excited to have this opportunity to step up my engagement level with the students at West Ridge as a full-time staff member. I’ve been spending a good deal of time over the past few months thinking, planning, and praying through what this next year will look like for the student ministry.

While I won’t bore you with all those details here, what I will tell you is that all the plans and ideas center around helping our students do two main things: grow closer to God, and grow deeper in their relationships with others.

Along those lines, I’m hoping to be able to better partner with you all as parents in helping that growth process along, and I’ll be doing my best to keep you in the loop along the way. As a start, we will have a parents’ meeting on Sunday, August 12, between the morning services. And you can expect to be hearing a lot more from me in the near future!

In the meantime, if you’ve ever got questions, comments, or concerns, don’t hesitate to shoot me an email or give me a call at church 847.488.1800, ext. 170. I always appreciate hearing from you.

I’m new to the state and this church is at the end of my road. I’m looking for a place that my kids can also learn. I grew up strictly catholic and never really paid any attention to what was going on during a traditional mass because it was “boring”. Do you offer any Sunday school or childrens classes for kindergarten and first grade children??

  2. Timothy Oidtman says:

yes we do for all ages.
